It’s been a long and busy Summer for the Knight Bridge horses with lots of highs and only a few lows!
Washington, the longtime stalwart of the team, has continued to live up to his position as top horse on the yard, competing in his and Emily’s first Senior International at Deauville CDI3* in France and in their third Intermediaire I National Championship at Stoneleigh. He is now on a well deserved break and enjoying some long overdue relaxation and downtime.
Suilven has continued to improve in leaps and bounds. She competed in her first two competitions and is yet to be beaten! A great achievement for a four year old in her first ridden season. She was also t
he champion of the four and five year old mares at the annual British Hanoverian Horse Society show, confirming what great potential she has for the future. It was decided that she was the horse for Emily to take out to France for her university Year Abroad and she has settled in remarkably well at the home of the respected and renowned Judet-Chéret family at Parc de Chapuis, Pamfou. We are hoping that she will be able to continue gaining experience at competitions while in France and participate in some Young Horse classes at the start of next year.
Benvenita is also proving to be a really exciting horse for the future. She is already showing some impressive and powerful work and Emily has handed the reins over to Drew while in France although it has been made very clear that it is on a strictly temporary
basis!!
Another great piece of news is that Emily is now sponsored by Animo Italia, a truly innovative and original brand that combines the best of Italian tailoring with the latest technological innovations. We are incredibly proud to be associated with such a fantastic company and look forward to working with Animo as they continue to develop the next generation of riding apparel.
Meanwhile Emma Burge’s driving ponies, Capitola Belle de Jour and Capitola Mr Houdini, continued their campaign for world domination with a convincing win at Erddig Driving Trials, meaning they finish their fantastic season unbeaten. We are all keeping our fingers crossed as they now set their sights on selection for the World Carriage Driving Championships in 2013.
