Bright Time FST and Suilven, owned by Fay Thomas of FST Sport Horses, have both made a big impression during their first competition season over the last few weeks including some excellent results at their first Premier League competition at Wellingon Riding.
Suilven, a five year old mare by Sir Donnerhall bought by Fay as a foal, has not only been achieving some good results at Novice level but has also been selected for the BEF Futurity Equine Bridge scheme identifying her as a ‘future international (potential medal winning) horse’. This is an exciting new scheme and we look forward to working alongside with the BEF in order to further the development of this talented and elegant horse.
Meanwhile, Bright Time FST, a six year old gelding bred by Fay by Breitling W, has been taking the local competition scene by storm and is thus far unbeaten in all of his starts at Novice level achieving several plus-70% scores. There is a lot more to come from this horse who is very inexperienced so it really is a case of watch this space!
Both horses contested the BD National Young Horse classes at the prestigious Wellington Premier League in June. There was some strong competition from the top young horses in the country but they held their own and both finished a creditable fifth in their relevant age group, Suilven on 74% and Bright Time FST on 73.6%, a great indicator for their potential as future Advanced dressage horses, something that is already becoming apparent in their work at home as they are both showing great ability for lateral work, collection and flying changes.
