It was a girls’ outing to Half Moon Stud last week, as four year old Freya FST took part in her first competition, while Suilven and Meacham Metz contested the Elementary.
Freya was amazingly well-behaved and took everything in her stride. She was almost too relaxed at times and had to be reminded to keep going forward. However, her behavious was impeccable which bodes well for her future.
Suilven produced a confident performance in the Elementary 42 and was rewarded with a score of 69%. She is learning to maintain greater cadence and lift through the trotwork, and the canter is beautifully balanced and expressive.
The star of the day was Meacham Metz, who was taking part in her first competition in over a year. She pulled out a smooth, consistent, confident test and earned herself a well-deserved 70%. This lovely horse is for sale, for further details please email us using the contact form.
Overall, it was a very successful trip with lots to be positive about. It was our first visit to Half Moon Stud and everything was run precisely, and with a great deal of warmth and friendliness. We shall certainly be going back!
