The Horse of the Year Show at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre is a highlight of any riding enthusiasts calendar, so everyone at Harris Equestrian was thrilled to get the invite for Emily and Freya FST to contest the Future Elite Dressage Championship.
From the 5am arena familiarisation to Prince Philip Cup teams passing by, there was lots to see that was out of the ordinary for a dressage competition. Having never seen anything like it , Fay Thomas’ Freya nonetheless took the occasion in her stride.
With a strong, confident, mistake-free performance, Freya excelled herself to finish 5th in a strong class of the best young Advanced horses in the country. She received some excellent feedback from the judges: head of the ground jury and FEI 5* judge Stephen Clarke commented that he ‘loved’ the choreography and choice of music.
With another excellent experience under her belt, Freya continues to prove herself as a horse with real potential for the Grand Prix arena. Thank you to all the team members, sponsors and supporters to help to make this dream a reality.
